Thank God for the Summertime

A friend of mine has gotten me addicted to Ben Rector. Over the past three weeks I don’t think I have listened to anything other than him. If you ever have a moment of free time, which I would assume you do since you’re reading this, you should listen to his album The Walking In Between. I’ve already decided his song “Thank God for the Summertime”is going to be my theme song for this season and this blog. It has reminded me in the most idealistic way that I absolutely adore the summertime. Summertime always incites feelings of hope, adventure, and newness. School is out and there is an opportunity to do anything I want; the possibilities are endless. I can be a new person this summer. I can experiment with new things. I can fail miserably at new ventures and succeed immensely at others. There is something I have wanted to do for quite some time that I haven’t had the courage to do, but I’ve mustered the courage to embark on this adventure this summer. It’s always been a dream of mine to be a writer, but I’ve been waiting for the “right time.” Well the right time is now, and, with the summer officially beginning for me, I am officially attempting to start writing. Today is a big day for me, and I am overjoyed that I get to share it with you. I don’t know where this is going to go, but I just want to write. In my mind, I see myself writing something every day, and every Monday and Friday I will share the best things I have written. I look forward to the times we will spend together, and I encourage you to join me on this journey. Comment, like, retweet, or simply enjoy these posts with me. Let’s live life together this summer. Who knows what this summer will hold for us, but thank God for the summertime. It’s going to be a great summer, so let’s bask in the greatness together.
